AK…Post 2

After a four day storm cycle, the afternoon skies cleared for us. AK is like a drug…the more days you get, the more days you want. Seth and Jeremy showed their vets and made quick work. Jeremy found the gnarliest line he could and Morrison stomped an 80 foot front flip. We are going into another weather cycle but are amped for more!

Up North…

I made it North to Haines just 4 days after I returned from Europe. The first day was blue and the snow was stable. Every time I come to Alaska it takes awhile to adjust to the size and scale of these mountains. They are like no other in the world. I am elated to be here and can only hope for more days like yesterday. It’s snowing hard out right now so I’ll see what mother nature is going to dish us…

Switzerland!

After Romania we headed to Swiss for some more Euro fun! We knew we were headed into hard pack but we had hopes for getting lucky with snow. Well …it was hard pack and way less snow than any of us imagined. Europe had one of their best starts ever but the last month had been warm, dry and it showed.

We still had a good time and eventually found some good snow in Arosa. Even when the snow is bad in Europe, it’s still fun to be immersed in the Old Country!

Romania

I spent a week in Romania with TGR trying to ski some of the obscure, unknown terrain of the unique country. We basically had a private tram, a wealth of private terrain and stayed in a cabin on the top of the mountain. Unfortunately, the snow stability was very poor and we could not ski the gems right out our window.

Romania is a great country…you can see its hardships on the face of the people and its landscapes. The region truly grew on me and I cannot wait to return.
